Participate in Cancer Research through the Biospecimen Bank

Patients at The University of Kansas Cancer Center have the opportunity to participate in cancer research by donating biospecimens to our Biospecimen Bank.

Biospecimens, also called biosamples or specimens, are small amounts of blood, urine and/or tissue used for medical research. Our Biospecimen Bank obtains these specimens and medical data and makes them available for cancer research.

Researchers use biospecimens and medical information from participants to study how genes, lifestyle and our environment may lead to cancer. Their research can lead to new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

Our Biospecimen Bank serves as a valuable resource for researchers at The University of Kansas and potentially around the world.

Clinical Trials

Medical research finds ways to help people live longer, improve their quality of life and manage or cure disease. This is possible because of the people who volunteer to participate in clinical trials.
