Surviving Cancer

Our Commitment to Quality and Saving Lives

Patients come to us from different places and with varied health problems. All of them have one goal in common: beating cancer. To help them, every member of our staff commits to delivering the best outcomes and the highest quality care.

Our cancer specialists provide patients with the most comprehensive care in the region. That includes new technology, treatment options and clinical trials. We also strive to deliver the best patient experience every day. Patients and their families often tell us their personal stories about how the care they received has made a difference in their lives.

Personalized Approach to Cancer Care

While we treat all forms of cancer, most of our specialists have a disease-specific approach that focuses expertise on one type of cancer.

Our doctors work in teams to personalize each patient’s care. At weekly conferences, they review cases and get opinions from a group of specialists. They work together to find the best treatment options. This kind of collaboration is a key advantage of an academic medical center.

Our services cover all stages of the cancer journey:

  • Genetic counseling
  • Prevention
  • Diagnosis
  • Treatment
  • Survivorship

We have invested in advanced technology to provide state-of-the-art detection, diagnostic and treatment services.

Our care is focused on the whole person. Social workers, dietitians, chaplains and other support staff work closely with patients who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Support Services

Patients, families and caregivers can attend a free, monthly support groups organized by the Brandmeyer Patient Resource Center. Members share personal experiences and knowledge about cancer with others who have had similar experiences. The center also provides information on support groups sponsored by community organizations.

Survivorship Services

We believe surviving cancer begins the day of diagnosis and continues every day beyond. Patients benefit greatly from long-term follow-up care delivered by knowledgeable providers.

The Brandmeyer Resource Center is located in the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Care Pavilion. It offers a wealth of free cancer-related information. The center is staffed by an experienced cancer nurse who is trained to help visitors find the right resources.

Clinical Trials

Medical research finds ways to help people live longer, improve their quality of life and manage or cure disease. This is possible because of the people who volunteer to participate in clinical trials.
