Benefits of telehealth second opinions

The experience of a multidisciplinary team of cancer specialists ‒ surgical oncologist, medical oncologist and radiation oncologist ‒ helps ensure you get the correct diagnosis and the best treatment for your type of cancer.

What to expect from your telehealth appointment

During your visit, the team will review and/or confirm your initial diagnosis, and you’ll be able to ask questions and explore your treatment options. This allows us to develop a personalized treatment plan for your best outcome, and to ensure that you are aware of clinical trials that could be integral to your treatment.

The emotion and shock of a cancer diagnosis can make it difficult when it comes time to ask specific questions about care and treatment. We recommend you schedule your telehealth cancer second opinion appointment when a friend or family member can be with you and assist by taking notes and asking questions during your discussion.

Our disease-site-specific nurse navigators will guide you through initial testing and appointments by gathering your medical records and imaging, answering questions and providing emotional support. These nurses, who are paired with you from the moment of referral, remain with you until your treatment plan is established and then serve as an additional resource throughout your cancer journey.
