Investiture ceremony honors Scott Weir, PharmD, PhD

Scott Weir, PharmD, PhD, receives investiture as Kelly Family Foundation IAMI Professor in Cancer Drug Discovery and Development, May 12, 2017.Before an audience of colleagues, family and friends, Scott Weir, PharmD, PhD, associate director of translational research at The University of Kansas Cancer Center and director of the Institute for Advancing Medical Innovation (IAMI) at the University of Kansas Medical Center will be formally invested this evening as the Kelly Family Foundation IAMI Professor in Cancer Drug Discovery and Development. The professorship is an appointed position by Roy Jensen, MD, director of KU Cancer Center.

The IAMI Professorship in Cancer Drug Discovery and Development was established by the Kelly Family Foundation with a match from the Hall Family Foundation. Professorships were crucial in The University of Kansas Cancer Center's successful quest for National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation. Moreover, professorships will be vital in helping The University of Kansas Cancer Center achieve the next level of recognition: Comprehensive Cancer Center designation.
