Collaborative effort

The Clinical Research Center contains key collaborators including the phase I oncology clinical trial unit, the Midwest Cancer Alliance headquarters and Frontiers: The Heartland Institute for Clinical and Translational Research. Their close proximity to each other saves valuable time in discovering cures and working toward a world without cancer.

Inspired innovation

Designed unlike any other research facility in the country, The University of Kansas Clinical Research Center has state-of-the-art features to best accommodate clinical trial participants and researchers. All medical and nursing staff are trained in oncology and clinical trial patient care. The new center provides a central location to enhance collaboration between researchers and clinical staff caring for participants.

The building conveniently houses all clinical research functions formerly spread across multiple locations. Bio analytical lab and clinical lab facilities are on site for proper specimen management, a vitally important element in the effort to cure cancer.

Designed to facilitate promising new drugs from the lab to the clinic, the center offers new options to community physicians and their patients who may have exhausted treatment options elsewhere.

Travel south on Rainbow Blvd. from the hospital 1.7 miles to Shawnee Mission Parkway. Turn right and continue west on Shawnee Mission Parkway 1.4 miles to W. 55th Street. Turn right, continue to the second drive on the left and turn left. Continue to the first building on the right.

Turn right onto Shawnee Mission Parkway from Belinder Road and continue west 1.4 miles to W. 55th Street. Turn right, continue to the second drive on the left and turn left. Continue to the first building on the right.

From the north

• Take I-29 south to I-35 south.
• Exit at Rainbow Boulevard.
• Turn south onto Rainbow Boulevard and continue 1.7 miles to Shawnee Mission Parkway.
• Turn right at Shawnee Mission Parkway.
• Travel west 1.4 miles on Shawnee Mission Parkway to W. 55th Street (Einstein’s is on the corner).
• Turn right on W. 55th Street.
• Travel west on W. 55th Street to the second drive on the left
• Turn left and continue to the first building on the right.

From the west

• Take I-70 east to the south 7th Street Trafficway exit.
• Travel south on 7th Street past I-35 where it becomes Rainbow Boulevard.
• Continue south to Shawnee Mission Parkway.
• Travel west 1.4 miles on Shawnee Mission Parkway to W. 55th Street (Einstein’s is on the corner).
• Turn right on W. 55th Street.
• Travel west on W. 55th Street to the second drive on the left.
• Turn left and continue to the first building on the right.

From the east

• Take I-70 west toward downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
• Merge onto I-35 south.
• Exit I-35 at Rainbow Boulevard/7th Street Trafficway.
• Turn south onto Rainbow Boulevard and continue to Shawnee Mission Parkway.
• Turn right onto Shawnee Mission Parkway.
• Travel west 1.4 miles on Shawnee Mission Parkway to W. 55th Street (Einstein’s is on the corner).
• Turn right onto W. 55th Street.
• Travel west on W. 55th Street to the second drive on the left.
• Turn left and continue to the first building on the right.

From the south

Via I-35 

• Travel north on I-35 to Shawnee Mission Parkway exit.
• Turn right and travel east on Shawnee Mission Pkwy. to W. 55th Street (Einstein’s is on the corner).
• Turn left onto W.55th Street.
• Travel west on W. 55th Street to the second drive on the left.
• Turn left and continue to the first building on the right.

Via I-435  

• Exit I- 435 south of the city at State Line Road.
• Travel north on State Line Road to Shawnee Mission Parkway.
• Turn left onto Shawnee Mission Parkway.
• Travel west on Shawnee Mission Parkway to W. 55th Street (Einstein’s is on the corner).
• Turn right onto W.55th Street.
• Travel west on W. 55th Street to the second drive on the left.
• Turn left and continue to the first building on the right.

Parking
Parking north of the main building entrance is free for participants and visitors. A covered drive-up area at the main entrance has a convenient drop-off and pick-up area.
