About the Auranofin study

We are now conducting research to evaluate the safety, tolerability and preliminary overall response rate (including the complete response and partial response rate) of auranofin treatment in patients with relapsed chronic lymphocytic leukemia, small lymphocytic lymphoma, or prolymphocytic lymphoma based on criteria for patients in clinical practice. This is an investigator-initiated trial led by Kapil Bhalla, MD.

Who is eligibile?

Patients must have histologically confirmed B-cell CLL, SLL, PLL arising from CLL/SLL or Richter’s transformation according to WHO criteria and require therapy based on the 2008 revised IWCLL criteria.


Patients must:
  • Have relapsed or refractory disease after receiving at least one prior therapy for CLL
  • Be at least 18 years old with an ECOG status of 0-2
  • Have adequate organ and marrow function
