Broderick Crawford Sr., member of the PIVOT patient leadership team and chair of The University of Kansas Cancer Center’s Community Advisory Board, passed away on November 27, 2022. Broderick was a driving force in Kansas City, a consummate volunteer and passionate advocate for health equity.

Broderick’s patient advocacy journey started when he became a caregiver to his father, a prostate cancer survivor. As a member of the PIVOT leadership team, Broderick partnered with researchers to give a voice to minorities, who are often under-represented in medical research. As chair of the Community Advisory Board, he provided thoughtful guidance on the cancer center’s research priorities and outreach efforts. We are eternally grateful for his friendship, grace and voice.
