Weijing Sun, MD, director of the division of Medical Oncology and associate director for clinical research at The University of Kansas Cancer Center, will be formally vested this evening as the Sprint Foundation Professor. The professorship is an appointed position by Roy Jensen, MD, director of The University of Kansas Cancer Center.
“Dr. Sun is an internationally renowned gastrointestinal oncologist. His contributions to the field as both a physician and scientist are prodigious,” Dr. Jensen said.

The Sprint Professorship was established in 2014 by the Sprint Foundation and the Hall Family Foundation. Professorships are an impactful way to recognize the accomplishments of distinguished faculty members, as well as help strengthen KU Cancer Center’s reputation as a top-tier institution for cancer research and treatment.
