Cancer affects everyone. Whether it’s a friend or family member or ourselves, we all have a personal connection with the disease. At The University of Kansas Cancer Center, these personal experiences help shape our approach to cancer research and treatment. All of the ups and downs that cancer brings — the hardships, the victories — make us wiser and more sympathetic… and emboldened in our quest for a cancer-free Kansas and beyond.
In the coming year, on KU Cancer Center’s social media channels, we will be sharing the stories of our own employees’ encounters with cancer. The campaign, called #CancerConnectsUs, illustrates that none of us are alone in the fight. We are united, made stronger by our experiences.
