The University of Kansas Cancer Center has been named a winner in Ragan’s PR Daily Awards in the Social Media and Video categories for its Facebook Live series, Bench to Bedside.
The series follows news and developments related to cancer research, prevention and treatment. Cancer center director Roy Jensen, MD, hosts the show and interviews cancer health and research professionals from the cancer center, the University of Kansas Health System and the University of Kansas Medical Center, and patients and professionals from other organizations.
As a National Cancer Institute-designated center, it is the cancer center’s duty to provide public education and outreach programs on cancer prevention and screening, with a sharpened focus on the unique underserved and high-risk populations in our catchment area. Through Bench to Bedside, the cancer center can effectively reach many people to communicate important information about cancer.
