Cancer Symptom Care

If you are a patient in active cancer treatment and experiencing adverse side effects related to treatment, you can receive immediate assistance through The University of Kansas Cancer Center’s cancer symptom care. Cancer symptom care provides additional support and specialized care for established cancer patients.

Contact your respective cancer care team on how to proceed if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever of 100.5 or higher
  • Any sign of infection at an incision, drainage tube or catheter site
  • Blood in the urine, dark red stools, vomiting blood
  • Coughing, wheezing or shortness of breath
  • Fall with injury or loss of consciousness
  • Flu-like symptoms, fainting, overall exhaustion, disorientation, uncontrollable pain
  • Racing or irregular heartbeat
  • Uncontrolled diarrhea or vomiting
