Missys’ Boutique, an accredited cancer appearance center, helps renew cancer patients' spirits from the outside in. Judy Newell, manager and co-founder of Missys’, demonstrates tips and tricks to help cancer patients overcome obstacles with spirit and style.
"Hello, I'm Judy, manager at Missys' Boutique, an accredited cancer appearance center. I'm here to show you how easy it is to do scarf tying.
This scarf here is a self-tie which makes it really easy for you. All you have to do with this type of scarf is twist and tuck. There we go, we're going to take the tail and we're going to twist and tuck it. And take this one, and twist and tuck it and look how pretty that is.
Because when you wear one of these scarves, you can't help but feel pretty and when you feel pretty on the outside, you definitely will feel good and pretty on the inside. Click the link for more information and thank you for watching."
"Hello, I'm Judy, manager at Missys' Boutique, an accredited cancer appearance center. I'm here to show you today, if you've lost hair, some great options.
The first item we have here is our bamboo hat- very soft, very comfortable. The next one is our cotton cap- very nice and stretchable, washes very easy, lots of different colors. Then, of course, is our summer hat for the beach, or wherever. It has a nice wire in the brim to hold it where you want it. And then finally we have our scarf which is infused with wicking to absorb moisture and is also self-tie.

Jill Chadwick: "Hi, I'm Jill, with The University of Kansas Cancer Center and this is Judy, manager at Missys' Boutique, an accredited cancer appearance center, and she's going to show us how to tie this scarf, it can be so intimidating to tie these scarves."
Judy Newell: "No, it's not Jill. But every woman says that and the reason why is...look at all this material. You hand a woman a scarf like this and they go, 'oh, no, I can't do that.' But yes, you can. Put it on, cross it over in the back. Start twisting the tail. I'm left-handed, so I go left. Okay, just bring it back across the forehead like this - the little loose ends you can tuck back in later. Just tie it in a knot right here; make sure it's nice and secure. Okay."
Jill: "That is easy."
Judy: "Then take your other tail, okay? Twist it and you're going to be ready to go."
Jill: "And it really is secure."
Judy: "Yes."
Jill: "Why is it important for women to have something this lovely when they're going through cancer?"
Judy: "Well, all women like to be pretty. And so, a scarf or whatever, if you have something pretty on, it makes you feel good on the inside. And I think when you feel good on the inside, that's all part of helping you heal faster."
Jill: "Well, thanks for showing us and thank you for watching. Click the link for more information.
