Become a Member of the Center for Survivorship for Patient-Oriented Research

Membership in the Center for Survivorship for Patient-Oriented Research (CSPOR) is available to scientists and clinical investigators interested in cancer survivorship research and clinical trials. Members will be selected based on their accomplishments, their record of research or clinical work and their commitment to working together as part of the scientific community. 

Membership Categories

FULL MEMBER

  • Faculty position at the University of Kansas Medical Center or an allied institution (KU Lawrence, Stowers, Children's Mercy), and
  • Record of high-quality peer-reviewed publications, including at least one publication related to cancer survivorship in the past 3 years, and
  • Actively involved in cancer-related basic, translational and/or clinical research as evidenced by being a principal investigator (PI) or co-investigator (co-I) on a cancer-related grant, and
  • Interest in cancer survivorship and patient-oriented research, and commitment to the mission, values and goals of CSPOR.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER

  • Located at one of the University of Kansas campuses or one of the cancer center consortium partners, and
  • Engaged in cancer-focused research and/or clinical practice, but does not have peer-reviewed, cancer-related funding within the last year, and 
  • Interest in cancer survivorship and patient-oriented research, and commitment to the mission, values and goals of CSPOR.

AFFILIATE MEMBER

  • Associated with institutions outside of the University of Kansas system, and
  • Interest in cancer survivorship and patient-oriented research, and commitment to the mission, values and goals of CSPOR.

TRAINEE MEMBER

  • Undergraduate or graduate student, resident, fellow or post-doc at the University of Kansas Medical Center or an allied institution (KU Lawrence, Stowers, Children's Mercy), and
  • Interest in cancer survivorship and patient-oriented research, and commitment to the mission, values and goals of CSPOR.

Membership Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in research program and serve on CSPOR committees. 
  • Develop interactions with other CSPOR members as measured by joint publications, joint grants or joint research activities. 
  • Attend annual symposium at least once every 3 years.
  • Submit a list of new publications, funding, clinical trials or pilot projects annually.
