United in a Singular Vision
When I look at what is happening across The University of Kansas Cancer Center, I see momentum and possibility taking shape. We are building a new facility that will bring research and patient care closer together than ever before. It will house the latest advances in cellular therapeutics, including the ability to create CAR T cells right here on site. By manufacturing these therapies ourselves, we can shorten the path from discovery to treatment and ensure that more patients benefit from them.
We are also tackling one of cancer’s toughest challenges, obesity, with the same determination. From understanding its biology to partnering with communities to testing new ways to prevent obesity, our teams are approaching it from every angle. While these efforts are significant, they represent only part of the progress you will see throughout this report.
What gives me hope is how these pieces are coming together. Science, care, prevention and outreach are no longer separate efforts. They’re part of a single vision. This wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our donors and the support of our partners. Together, we are creating a future where every patient who walks through our doors has more options, more support and more reasons for hope.
With gratitude,
